Concentration checks

When necessary? When unnecessary?

At Tensio, we have a clear position regarding ‘checking’ dosages of cleaning products and disinfectants. From a quality control point of view, it seems sensible to perform a determination several times a year. But with a malfunctioning installation, is four times enough?
In practice, we find that this is mainly driven by the quality manual, which once included a determination frequency as ‘standard’.

We believe it is important to:

• Show our customers how to perform their own concentration determination. For this purpose, we have developed our own Test Kits and our clients can check for themselves in a quick and easy way what concentration is being cleaned at. Auditors also like this approach. It shows a higher degree of commitment and helps develop a food safety culture. 
• During site visits to our clients, to put the focus on continuous improvement of cleaning procedures with enhancements and savings, rather than just visiting for systematic concentration checks.
